My interest in photography started as a kid watching my father and always wanting to play with his 35mm slrs. He was a hobbiest but took great pictures which were displayed around the house. He handed down his old slrs to me and taught me the basics of photography and how to use the cameras. I have since been studying and practicing, always working on improving my craft. Ironically, I am now reminding my father about how to manipulate the settings to capture the moment just right for different scenarios. I enjoy taking pictures of the beautiful scenes I come across in my travels throughout the United States. I particulary enjoy pictures of waterfalls and always try to capture them at just the right time and speed to get the soft, silky flowing effect of the water. My favorite time of day to take pictures is just before and after sunrise and sunset. These hours not only provide the best light but also the best effects for dramatic results. I am still using my father's old 35mm slrs (A Canon EF and Minolta Maxxum 7000) today as I really like the results I get with film along with a more modern digital slr, the Canon EOS 40D. |
