What Personal Information About Customers Does ShutterBudd Collect?

Registration:
We collect personal identifiable information such as your name, email address, postal code, state and country, when you registered to become a user on ShutterBudd. You must also create an account name and password to complete the registration process. In addition, we also collect optional information such as screen name, and other profile information.

User Profile Information:
We ask you to optionally provide your camera gear preference profile describing your once you’ve registered to be a ShutterBudd user. The preference profiles allow us to more accurately make content recommendations based on how well your profile matches the taste preference profiles of the others that have reviewed the camera gear.

Other User Submitted Information:
ShutterBudd collects user submitted reviews, ratings, recommendations and photos of businesses and service providers. Some of the other information we collect from users are their computer IP address, requested URL, referring URL, and timestamp.

Log Files and Cookies:
We use log files and cookies to track your site usage. This type of information are automatically received and stored whenever you interact with us. Cookies are alphanumeric identifiers that reside on your computer, via your browser, that allows us to recognize you as a user on ShutterBudd. We need that functionality in order for us to personalize the content according to the profile that you’ve supplied us. Unfortunately, if your web browser does not support cookies, or you have disabled the use of cookies via your browser, we will not be able to provide with personalized content. We recommend that you enable accepting cookies from ShutterBudd in order to fully benefit all the features and functionalities of the site.

Information About Your Buddies:
In order to invite users not already on ShutterBudd to become your buddy on ShutterBudd, you will need to provide their names and email addresses. Additionally, you may submit invitation requests to other ShutterBudd users directly via the Add Buddy feature, which does not require you to know their full name or email address. We use names and email addresses to send your invitation including a message that you write. The names and email addresses of people that you invite will be used only to send your invitation and reminders. We will never release your email address to anyone without your consent, except when required by law.

How Is The Information Collected by ShutterBudd Used?

To make the user experience more personalized and sociable, we may show personally identifiable information such as your account name, full name, and profile photo to your buddies or other users mainly with the recommendations/reviews/ratings that you have submitted. If a user is a buddy, he/she can also see your full name in their buddy list.

Your full name and email address may be used when you send an email notification to a buddy. For example, these notifications include invitations and recommendations that you have sent to a user on ShutterBudd, or someone outside the ShutterBudd community. We may from time to time send you news or updates regarding our site. You can opt-out of these types of emails by modifying your email notification settings.

Site usage log files and user profile information allow us to analyze your interaction with us and offer personalized content, such as the recommended camera gear search result to optimize your usage experience. We also process the usage log and your user profiles to best correlate the relevance between you, and other users, so that we can show you the most relevant camera gear recommendations.

Does ShutterBudd Share the Information It Receives?

We will not sell, rent, or otherwise provide your personally identifiable information to any third parties for commercial purposes. However, we may sell or trade your recommendations/reviews/ratings to third parties. Your account name/screen name, profile photo, any submitted photos of camera gear and other business establishments, and any personally identifiable information you have included in your reviews may be transferred to those third parties and displayed on their websites in connection with the third parties’ publication of your reviews.

We will release account and other personal information to comply with the law, in response to subpoenas, court orders, or other legal processes. Additionally, ShutterBudd may share information in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities or suspected fraud, or to enforce or apply the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy.

In the event of a transfer of ownership of ShutterBudd, such an acquisition by or merger with another company, ShutterBudd will notify you regarding the transfer of ownership, and you may be subject to a different privacy policy.
We allow other companies to serve advertisements to ShutterBudd customers. Those companies are also known as ad networks and include third party ad servers, ad agencies, ad technology vendors and research firms. In order for the ads to work correctly, we will place web beacons, objects embedded in web pages, to transmit the viewing of a specific page. ShutterBudd does not use personally identifiable information to target ads.

Because your web browser must request ads and web beacons from the ad network’s servers, these companies can set their own cookies on your browser. This will have the same result as you directly requesting a web page from the ad networks.

How Secure Is Information About Me?

Access to your ShutterBudd account is password-protected in order to secure your personal information. We use industry standard measures to protect your information stored on our system. Although we make best efforts to protect against unauthorized disclosures of information, we cannot assure you that personally identifiable information collected on our site will never be disclosed in a way that is not consistent with this privacy policy.

You hereby acknowledge that ShutterBudd is not responsible for any intercepted information sent via the Internet, and you hereby release us from any and all claims arising out of or related to the use of intercepted information in any unauthorized manner.

Which Information Can I Access?

Please be informed that any personally identifiable information (e.g., account name, e-mail address) via reviews, messages, forums, postings, or in other areas of the ShutterBudd site, that information, along with any substantive information disclosed in your communication, can be collected and correlated and used by third parties and may result in unsolicited messages from other posters or third parties. Such activities are beyond the control of ShutterBudd. Please do not post any personal information on the ShutterBudd site or in other areas that you expect to keep private.

As a registered ShutterBudd user, you can modify your personal information at any time by accessing the "Account" or "My Profile" section of the site. Also, if you decide to close your account, ShutterBudd will use reasonable efforts to remove your personally identifiable information from our publicly viewable data. We may retain certain data contributed by you if it may be necessary to prevent fraud or future abuse, or for legitimate business purposes, such as analysis of aggregated, non-personally-identifiable data, account recovery, or if required by law. To request we close your account and remove your personal information from ShutterBudd, please send us an e-mail to customer_service@shutterbudd.com using the primary email account that you have registered with us.

Are Children Allowed to Use ShutterBudd?

ShutterBudd is not directed to children. Children are not eligible to use our service and we ask that minors (under the age of 18) do not submit any personal information to us or use the service.
