Octboer/November 2008: Life In the Bay

ShutterBudd is hosting a few local art displays in the San Francisco Bay Area and we're looking for submissions from photographers such as yourself!

Have you ever gone into a local cafe or restaurant, seen beautiful art on the walls and wondered how you could get your photographs in a public place? ShutterBudd can help you get your work out to the general public by sponsoring art displays at local cafes and restaurants. We'll take care of all the work to get the images framed and work with the business owners on the actual display. All you will need to do is submit an image that you think fits with the theme.

Venues

For our very first show, we've chosen two lovely local businesses in Mountain View, California: Sweet Corner and zpizza, both located on bustling Castro Street. They have both expressed an interest in giving back to the artistic community and hosting beautiful art in their spaces, and this is a great chance for everyone to win!

Theme

The theme for this show will be "Life In the Bay" since we are located in the San Francisco Bay Area and will be showing the art in local businesses. We'd like to see images that really reflect the feeling of the Bay Area and of living in and around San Francisco. These may range from the iconic Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco cityscapes to street festivals in and around San Francisco and life on the beautiful Californian coastline.

We are asking for stunning black and white images that evoke any number of emotions and are immediately recognizable as having been taken in the Bay Area.

Please note that you do not need to be locally based in the Bay Area to participate in this show. We are simply looking for photos taken in the area.

Submission Guidelines and Deadlines

Digital submissions must be posted to ShutterBudd.com by midnight PDT on Friday, September 12, 2008. As photos are submitted and reviewed, we will be asking select photographers to provide an 8"x10" print for each photo for our evaluation; all prints must be received within one week of the request. As a final deadline, all 8"x10" prints must be received by Monday, September 22, 2008 to be considered for the show. Selections will be contacted via email by September 27, 2008. The names will be published to ShutterBudd.com on October 1, 2008.

Each photographer may submit up to 10 photos for evaluation. The photos will be displayed for the entire month of October 2008, and copyright and contact information will be posted next to each photo.
